There’s a chill in the air these days. And chili, too.

So the plan is to beat the shivers with the return of “Heat It Up! Milwaukee’s Bloody Mary & Chili Challenge”at Cathedral Square Park on Saturday.

The cool factor comes in with Bloody Mary sampling from at least eight vendors, including defending champion the Pfister Hotel. And the heat comes from at least nine chili booths, including defending champ Hotel Metro.

Visitors, of course, again get to judge this year’s competition. And gypsy swing music guaranteed to raise temps will be provided by Fourth Street Elevator.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chili samples are $2 each; Bloody Mary samples are $4 each; $20 for unlimited of both. No reservations required.
