Tim Smith, general manager at Marcus Hotels and Resorts’ InterContinental Milwaukee, has been named general manager at Marcus’ historic downtown Milwaukee hotel The Pfister, the third to hold that position in as many years.
Smith fills the shoes of Paul Ohm, who moved from California to take the role in early 2013 after general manager Joe Kurth’s departure. Ohm’s Facebook page lists him as general manager at Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel, formerly the InterContinental Chicago, where a receptionist confirmed his new title.
Smith’s promotion became official Tuesday morning. He has served as general manager at the InterContinental since 2007.
Previously, Smith served as corporate director of sales for Marcus Hotels and Resorts, under Milwaukee parent companyMarcus Corp. (NYSE: MCS). Smith also served for about 10 years as director of sales and marketing for the Marcus-owned Hilton Milwaukee City Center in downtown Milwaukee. There, he met wife Peggy Williams-Smith, now corporate vice president of food and beverage for Marcus Hotels and Resorts.
Replacing Smith as general manager at the InterContinental Milwaukee is Omar Naimi, who joined Marcus Hotels in 2011 as director of operations for The Pfister.
